Not exactly specifically a Cobra-related update this time but since the garage is looking so tidy now, I feel the need to share some pictures.. I went out to the garage on Sunday morning with the aim of working on the M3 rather than the Cobra, but became quickly rather frustrated by the sheer amount… Read More

Somewhat frustrated with my lack of progress so far my better half has decided that this years birthday present can be getting the hub carriers & hubs refurbished by Wards or John Gordon; so to that end I thought I’d better see what needed to be stripped off prior to sending them away. One part… Read More

Ok, the title is a lie – I didn’t for a minute think I’d be done within a year, but I’m quite ashamed at the lack of progress I’ve made over the last 11 months or so. I certainly thought I’d be further along than I am.. I have no excuses, aside from a new… Read More

As the garage was now entirely filled with Cobra bits – meaning I couldn’t park the M3 in there or get to the pit to give both cars a much-needed service – and since my Dad had a week off work, he offered to come up for a couple of days and build me a… Read More

Since delivery I’ve basically made zero progress unfortunately, thanks to a hectic schedule of… Read More

That’s it – I finally succeeded in stripping off all the bits I need and putting them into a big pile. Now, more or less, the Jag can go off to the crusher – although a friend of mine wants to come over at the weekend and pull the engine & box, so.. not quite… Read More

I know, an update every day. What’s going on? Another afternoon in the garage today and I managed to get the rear end broken down almost all the way – I was stopped by, yet again, the large pivot bolts. This time it’s the ones that go through the rear wishbones and attach them to… Read More

Ah-ha! Success! I was able to drill the remains of the bolt out of the front wishbone using various sizes of drill bit and then, when only the thinnest of slivers of bolt remained on one side, drive a small screwdriver down and ‘peel’ the remains of the bolt off the inside of the hole.… Read More

Well, it’s finally happened – all the parts I actually need off the Jag are off the Jag and sitting in the garage in a heap organised pile. Took a while as the last lower wishbone wanted to put up a proper fight with me – in the end it took the purchase of an air… Read More
