Despite the weather forecast being less than stellar for today I took a punt and headed up to the Dax open day to see some cars and see if my chassis is ready..

Well the weather played a blinder – beautiful sunshine and clear blue skies, although it could have been a tad warmer; it was freezing inside the workshop! It was also by far the busiest open day I’ve been to so far – lots and lots of people, BBQ, food & drink laid on and some great cars came including an old Ford Anglia (with decidedly non-original V8) and a 1929 Bentley.

On the down side .. my chassis isn’t ready 🙁 Seems Dax need a gearbox & bell housing before they can position the engine and nobody thought to mention that until now. Luckily I have a gearbox already, unluckily I don’t have a bell housing to mate it to the engine! I wasn’t really planning on buying that until I could see whether a 7pm or 9pm position was better for the clutch arm. Need to put in a call to Dax next week to sort it all out but unfortunately for me I’m not going to be able to do much about it before the start of May as I’m now going to be out of the country for a week or so after next week.

Bah. Still, gives me more time to get rid of the Jag, I suppose!

Anyway, I took a few pictures of the day – enjoy!
