That’s it – I finally succeeded in stripping off all the bits I need and putting them into a big pile. Now, more or less, the Jag can go off to the crusher – although a friend of mine wants to come over at the weekend and pull the engine & box, so.. not quite yet.

Finally after a lot of pounding with a lump hammer, one of the pivot bolts drifted out – after that, and a lot more pounding, the other drifted off the front ‘loop’ and took the remaining wishbone and rear dog bone with it, and the diff was free. Although it had peed a little onto my carpet where I tipped it up – lovely stinky diff oil.

 

Now I need to get rid of the Jag and then figure out which bits go where for refurbishing, blasting & coating or rebuilding. I know where the diff will be going, but I’m less clear on the hubs (as to which bits need dismantling by me, and which bits need doing by Wards/John Gordon Eng.) – and I need to get all the bushes out of the wishbones, too.
