I can’t believe I didn’t post about this when it happened – I must have forgotten with all the excitement; and the fact that I was getting shipped off to Seattle for a week all of a couple of days later.

Since delivery I’ve basically made zero progress unfortunately, thanks to a hectic schedule of Seattle and bank holiday weekends with lots of social activities, but soon should see me starting to get all the donor parts refurbished and sorted out ready for refitting to produce a rolling chassis.

First thing I need to sort out is the diff, though this needs rebuilding to de-rate the clutch pack and new seals etc; which means I really need to call Russel and sort that out. The brakes will probably go off to BiggRed for a rebuild and refinish, and the rest of the parts will either go to John Gordon or Wards for refurb if they’re bits I can’t do myself (i.e. rear hub carriers).

Anyway, on delivery day the garage looked a lot like this:

After a tidy and a reshuffle, it’s more like this:

All the car parts have been neatly arranged at the back on racks, the workbench tidied, floor hoovered and new carpet tiles laid, the lathe moved to the back and the 390 ‘buck’ engine popped into the chassis as a temporary holding place for now; with a block of wood to hold the bell housing end up – ghetto style.
