Not quite three years pass by and what do I have to show for it? Not a lot, unfortunately, is the answer to that!

However, after a life induced hiatus I’m back in the garage (and the shed) and slowly starting to make progress again.

The first thing to do was send the front & rear hubs off to Ward Engineering for refurbishing; unfortunately that took a little time to complete but when they came back I think the wait was worth it!

The next thing I had to do was go through the nut & bolt kit, bush kit and so on and catalogue everything I had to make sure I wasn’t missing anything I needed in order to get started.. unfortunately I was – a few nuts & bolts were missing and I couldn’t find any of the bushes for the rear end of the car at all. I’m presuming those were mislaid in the three years that have gone by so they were purchased again.

A bigger problem, however, is that I’m currently missing the ‘pivot bars’ (as the build manual calls them) that form a large part of the camber compensating front end.  Those are meant to be with me this week..

Still, I did my cataloguing and turned a pile of parts into something more organised – the nuts & bolts are now bagged up in individual ‘sets’ and marked with where they will end up:

front bushes ptfe sleeves - spacers - nylon washers Rear hub carrier bushes Nuts & bolts!

After that I decided it was high time I pushed all the old rubber bushes out of the front suspension arms so I broke out the 10tonne press. Then I broke out the bearing removal tools. Then I broke out the drifts. Eventually I broke out the hacksaw and that won the day save for a small area of damage that will be filled and made good prior to blasting & coating:

That’s it for now! Next time I update I intend to have something actually attached to the chassis and I don’t intend it to be in 2019!
