So although I’m only making slow progress, I will admit, I am at least making some progress now – and it feels great to be getting somewhere!

After dropping the Jag lower wishbones off at a local powder coater (MicroBlast Services in Windsor, who I can now recommend) last week I picked them up today with their fresh coat of paint and looking almost like new; certainly better than I think I could have achieved with wire wheels and “rust eater” even if my trials with the Eastwood Rust Dissolver were actually quite successful.

Not only that, but the parts I’ve been waiting for from Dax have arrived – I now have a complete set of bushes for the rear end, complete set of ball joints for the front end, complete nut & bolt kit and (ahem) a couple of replacement front PU bushes because I may or may not have slightly knackered a couple trying to push the PTFE liner into the PU bush and the stainless tube into the PTFE liner; boy what a nightmare they are.

Actually I take that back, I still don’t have a complete nut & bolt kit, having just checked, so that’s something to call about tomorrow eh..

Anyway, to celebrate getting the wishbones back from the coaters I decided I would bench assemble them and install their PU bushes.  The upper wishbones are already almost completely bushed leaving just the ‘rocker arms’ or ‘pivot bars’ as the manual calls them to bush up for installation.
